CPP51122 Diploma of Property (Agency Management).
Successful completion of this course (CPP51122 Diploma of Property [Agency Management]) meets the educational requirements needed for application to the Tasmania Property Agents Board for a Real Estate Licence or Property Manager Licence. Applicants must also be able to demonstrate that they meet all other application requirements as set out by the Tasmania Property Agents Board.
A Real Estate Licence issued by Tasmania Property Agents Board will allow you to work as a licensed real estate agent in a sales, leasing, business broking, or stock and station role. You may run your own agency and hire agents' representatives to work under your supervision.
A Property Manager Licence issued by Tasmania Property Agents Board will allow you to work as a licensed real estate agent in a property management role.
A formal diploma qualification and transcript of results is issued to students upon successful course completion.
This course requires completion of 12 units of competency:
- CPPREP5001 Manage compliance in the property industry
- CPPREP5002 Establish and monitor property industry trust account management practices
- CPPREP5003 Manage ethical practice in the property industry
- CPPREP5004 Manage a safe workplace in the property industry
- CPPREP5005 Manage teams in the property industry
- CPPREP5006 Manage operational finances in the property industry
- CPPREP5007 Develop a strategic business plan in the property industry
- CPPREP5008 Market the property agency
- CPPREP5010 Manage customer service activities in the property industry
- BSBLDR522 Manage people performance
- BSBOPS502 Manage business operational plans
- BSBFIN501 Manage budgets and financial plans
There are no entry requirements for enrolling in this course.
To apply for a licence with the Tasmania Property Agents Board, all applicants must:
- hold a Diploma of Property awarded by a registered training organisation, or another qualification the Board is satisfied is substantially equivalent;
- be considered by the Agency to be a fit and proper person of good reputation, both generally and financially;
- have had two years full-time experience as a property manager or property representative during the previous five years immediately preceding your application;
- be prepared to undergo continuing education as specified by the Board.

Assessment by the College is competency-based. Competence implies that an individual demonstrates an understanding of the knowledge that is the basis of the practical task being carried out (i.e. having the required skills to carry out a specific role).
Student assignments are assessed based on whether or not the student has achieved the performance criteria for each element specified in the unit/s of competency they are undertaking (put simply, if you meet all of the learning criteria for a particular unit, you are competent in that unit). This method of assessment judges performance against a prescribed standard, not against other students. Students are assessed as 'Competent' or 'Not Yet Competent'.
Assignment submissions are assessed within five business days of submission. If your assessor grades your work as ‘Not Yet Competent’, they will provide feedback on what else they need you to address in your assignment before they can assess you as ‘Competent’. The best part? We don’t charge any resubmission fees for assessing, so you can resubmit as many times as you need to before being graded as ‘Competent’.
