ACT Assistant Agent (Salesperson Registration)
Core units
A Salesperson Registration (Assistant Agent), issued by Access Canberra, will allow you to be employed by a licensed Class 1 agent in a sales, leasing, business broking, or stock and station role.
This course requires the completion of 5 units of competency. Successful completion of this course meets the educational requirements for application to Access Canberra for an Assistant Agent Salesperson Registration.
Post-registration
Once Access Canberra has granted your Assistant Agent Registration (Real Estate), it will be valid for twelve (12) months. Before renewing your Assistant Agent Registration, you must complete an additional five (5) units of competency from either Group A or Group B of the CPP41419 Certificate IV in Real Estate Practice qualification.
Licensing
ACT Class 2 Real Estate Licence (CPP41419 Certificate IV in Real Estate Practice)
A Class 2 real estate licence allows you to be employed by a licensed Class 1 real estate licensee in a sales, leasing, or business broking role.
This course is most appropriate for those who hold a current Assistant Agent Certificate of Registration (real estate category).
This course requires the completion of 18 units of competency. Successful completion of this course (CPP41419 Certificate IV in Real Estate Practice) meets the educational requirements needed for application to Access Canberra for a Class 2 Real Estate Licence. Applicants must also be able to demonstrate that they have worked as an assistant agent for at least 12 months immediately preceding application.
ACT Class 1 Licence (CPP51122 Diploma of Property [Agency Management])
A Class 1 real estate licence allows you to run an agency and hire Class 2 licensees and assistant agents to work under your supervision.
This course requires the completion of 12 units of competency. Successful completion of this course (CPP51122 Diploma of Property [Agency Management]) meets the educational requirements needed for application to Access Canberra for a Class 1 Real Estate Licence.
Applicants must also be able to demonstrate that they meet all other application requirements as set out by Access Canberra.
A formal diploma qualification and transcript of results is issued to students upon successful course completion.
Licence accreditations
ACT Auctioneer Accreditation (‘Group D’ auctioneering units)
An auctioneer accreditation allows licensed agents (Class 1 and Class 2) to complete sales by auction.
This course requires the completion of 3 units of competency. Successful completion of this course meets the educational requirements needed to maintain the ability to conduct auctions after 1 July 2024, following the July 2022 ACT industry reforms.
A formal statement of attainment will be issued upon successful course completion.
