The CPD year is 1 July 2024 to 30 June 2025
New Supervision Guidelines commenced on 1 July 2024
Holders of just one category of Class 1 or Class 2 licence will be required to complete a minimum of five hours of CPD training
CPD delivery options
an in-person classroom session delivered by a trainer, with a maximum of 40 participants, or
an online interactive webinar session, delivered by a trainer, with a maximum of 25 participants, or
10 hours of purely online training, which includes all compulsory topics applicable to the agent’s licence category and additional elective training to make up the 10 hours.
Classroom and webinar CPD
Class 1 and Class 2 agent requirements:
Residential sales agents must complete 5 hours of training covering 3 compulsory topics (this does not include the compulsory NSW Fair Trading Underquoting course, which must be completed separately).
All other agents are to complete 5 hours of training covering 4 compulsory topics.
Dual licence agents are to complete a baseline of 5 hours of training covering 3 compulsory topics, plus additional topics specific to the second licence category, e.g. stock and station or strata (this does not include the compulsory NSW Fair Trading Underquoting course, which must be completed separately).

Licence holders
If you are unsure which licence category you fall under, you can search for your licence on the Service NSW Public Register. Then, select your chosen CPD option (classroom, webinar, or online) specific to your licence category or categories.
Assistant agents
Assistant agents are required to complete at least three Class 2 licence modules each CPD year. This must be done to achieve the CPP41419 Certificate IV in Real Estate Practice and make application for a Class 2 licence within four years from the registration issue date.

NSW CPD must be completed between 1 July and 30 June each year. Licences can be renewed before completing CPD, as long as the training is completed within the designated period and a record of course completion (training certificate) is retained.

Please note that GST applies to and is included in the cost of all CPD courses that are not units of competency.
Complete 5 hours of training in the classroom covering 3 compulsory topics.
This does not include the compulsory NSW Fair Trading Underquoting course.
