Legislative updates:
First steps taken to review South Australia's residential tenancy laws;
NSW Fair Trading commences consultation around changes to the Retail Leases Act;
Review of Western Australia's domestic violence tenancy law reforms;
Review of NSW rental laws around domestic violence and renting with pets.
Disciplinary action:
Victorian estate agent’s licence cancelled for trust account failures;
Tasmanian agent has licence suspended, ordered to pay a total of $12,500;
Former Victorian agent sentenced to community corrections order and 300 hours of unpaid community work;
Further misconduct within Victorian property industry as another former agent charged for misusing trust funds;
Western Australia Consumer Protection issues $16,000 in fines over unregistered sales representative.
